Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy
[ send me this paper ]
A 7 page paper discussing recent gains in research,
particularly that addressing the role of sarcoglycans play in the progress and form of the

in which the increase in knowledge of limb-girdle muscular dystrophy is gratifying yet remains inconclusive. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Low Sodium Diets for Children: The Positives and Negatives
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page discussion of the feasibility of implementing low sodium diets for children. Contends that the regulation of sodium is a critical facet of any diet. In children, however, the benefits of restricting sodium intake are often controversial. Indeed, sodium is a critical component of a childs physiology. Too little sodium can be just as adverse as too much sodium. In children with special dietary concerns, such as those with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, Duchene muscular dystrophy, Becker muscular dystrophy, and a variety of heart conditions, a low sodium diet is imperative. In most cases, however, the logic of a low sodium diet is highly contested. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Lower Back Pain And Chiropractic Care
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Chiropractic lends itself to addressing spinal misalignment subluxation a situation that practitioners claim can overwhelmingly and adversely impact the entire body. When the spine is out of alignment, undesirable pressure points are formed that create a domino effect as the misalignment continues to worsen. If everything of bone and muscle is where it is supposed to be, the body can readily maintain good health. Clearly, the same applies to the relationship between lower back pain and chiropractic care. This is a 5 page paper discussing Lynn Payers text Medicine & Culture. In Lynn Payers text Medicine & Culture: Varieties of Treatment in the United States, England, West Germany, and France first published in 1988, Payer discusses the radical differences in diagnosis, treatment and philosophy in regards to similar cases within those countries. What is interesting to the reader is that while all of the countries examined are considered to be Western cultures, in actuality, the cultures between the countries vary to a great extent as to the outlook and philosophy of medical practices. Payer relates a great many of these cultural differences to historical trends and the general philosophies of each country when in cultural context make a great deal of sense to the reader but may not have been considered when conceptualizing his or her own reliance on the medical community in ones own country.
