Military Strategy Equation: Gulf War
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. A strong and influential nation as America does not have to prove its authority unless and until there is a good reason. However, national policies sometimes dictate the fact that conflict is the only manner in which to prove a point in an otherwise stubborn situation. The Gulf War is a good example of this, inasmuch as it brought in many other entities that became involved with the fight for peace. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Millennium Challenge Account
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Of the most current United States humanitarian aid programs to have been implemented and perhaps the most aggressive, as well is the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA), brought into official existence in March of 2002. According to this program, President Bush has allocated an additional annual amount of five billion dollars to be dispersed over the next three years toward the economic and living standards improvement of developing countries, which equates to an augmentation of fifty percent of what currently exists in the nation's core assistance program. The primary factor that separates the MCA from other financial assistance given to developing countries in the past is that each recipient must first qualify under some rather stringent prerequisites that prove the money will be put toward bettering the nation's dire situation rather than merely applying it to such issues that will only further its present and unacceptable social, economic and health conditions. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

Milton Friedman's "Capitalism And Freedom"
[ send me this paper ]

In his book entitled "Capitalism and Freedom," Milton Friedman describes competitive capitalism as a system based on the elementary - yet frequently denied - proposition that both parties to an economic transaction benefit from it, provided the transaction is bi-laterally voluntary and informed. Employing a combination of theoretical or empirical arguments, Friedman asserts the need for a guaranteed income, to supersede centralized
bureaucratized social welfare services, which he states are counterproductive to the priorities of individualism, human incentive and productivity. No additional sources cited.
