Network / Multi-Level Marketing
[ send me this paper ]
A 12 page paper. Called a scam by some and the 'future of marketing' by others, multilevel marketing (MLM) most likely lies somewhere in between. Of course, there are MLM scams that are nothing more than thinly disguised pyramid schemes, but there are also many reputable MLM companies, such as Mary Kay Cosmetics. Conceiving of a world in which MLM supplants traditional retail efforts is difficult, but MLM remains an alternative channel of distribution to meet the needs of the consumer. MLM appears to be a permanent alternative, but not one that will overtake the corner grocery. Bibliography lists 11 sources.

Nordstroms Situation and Strategy
[ send me this paper ]
A 7 page paper assessing this admired, customer-focused retailers current position and current strategies to make recommendations for the future. Whereas other retailers turn first to customer service to cut costs, Nordstroms is taking the more intricate route of tuning internal processes and making use of customer information that already exists. Nordstroms is one of the last old-style department stores in which salespeople maintain close relationships with their best customers. It is unusual in that it still retains service at this level; it is likely alone as a mid-range store behaving as a high-end one. Includes a non-bulleted SWOT analysis. Bibliography lists 9 sources.

NRA - The National Rifle Association.
Thesis statement: The National Rifle
Association leadership, condoning of "alarmist
rhetoric," indicates it no longer represents its
membership appropriately.
[ send me this paper ]
(6 pp) Thesis statement: The National Rifle
Association leadership, condoning of "alarmist
rhetoric," indicates it no longer represents its
membership appropriately. After the tragedy in
Littleton, Colorado, the President of the National
Rifle Association, Charlton Heston, said, "we
cannot let tragedy lay waste to the most rare and
hard-won human right in history." There are those
historians who have traditionally felt that
"freedom of speech," has been our most liberating
cause. Certainly that is the phrase, which
allowed President Heston to make such claims.
Yet in spite of such national "soul searching,"
according to Woellert (1999), the NRA remains "one
of the nation's most resilient lobbies," but
unfortunately is representing its membership
less and less. Bibliography lists 10 sources
